Searching the Word...
Historic Building
Beautiful weather

Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12
Blogger meet-up!
What a blessing to meet other fellow bloggers! I'm sure you'll recognise..
~Kindred spirits from South Carolina with myself and my sister

Anna and Elisabeth Botkin answering a few questions

My thoughts:
*I was SOOO encouraged by all the large families who attended!
*All the women were dressed in modest skirts or dresses--yes!!!
*I was challenged to not take lightly my role, duty and influence as sister and daughter
*We didn't agree with everything, but we searched the scriptures to see what God had to say on different subjects
*I was so proud of homeschoolers--ALL the children sat quietly with their parents through lectures from 9am-9pm!
*I should've worn my hat!!
*I was overwhelmed with excitement to be able to meet other bloggers (and their families!) It was funny to already know so much about someone before you meet 'em :)
*The conference was national--Some came from Pennsylvania, Washington state, NYC, Virginia, and of course, us southerners ;P
*Columbus, GA is a beautiful, historic town. Hopefully we can visit again! (C'mon, those antique shops were calling my name! :)

What a delightful post!!
I'm sure all of you had a wonderful time at the Conference. What a blessing it must of been to of met your fellow blogging friends!! That's something I would love to do as well...if the Lord wills someday. Oh my, all of the young ladies skirts were just beautiful. You really took some great pics. Did you meet or get to talk with one of the Botkin sisters? What dears they are. ;) I love their book and documentary...which has been such an inspiration and encouragement to me in the path of Biblical Womanhood. Isn't it refreshing to be around so many like minded people?! Thank you for sharing in beautiful words and pictures. Oh and I liked the use of the word know it's very special to me and my blog! ;)
Blessed Sabbath day to you and your family.

Love Your Sister in Christ,

Hi Mia!

Wow, congrats on getting your post done so quickly! :) What wonderful pictures!! I'm going to have to do mine tomorrow... I'm completely exhausted today! We played Ultimate Frisbee (a very physically demanding game) today with some friends from a home-church. (I'll have to tell you more about that later)

Anyway, it was WONDERFUL meeting you!! I believe my parents will be contacting yours soon about getting together! :)

Mia, I'm so pleased that you were able to attend the conference. We were disappointed to miss it. I'm sure it was a tremendous blessing.

By the way, a friend of mine -- a mother of six -- told me a few days ago that she has fallen in love with reading your blog. (She followed the link on my blog.) May the Lord be praised and glorified through your continued example of a lovely young lady honoring the Lord!

Oh Mia.... you are such a beautiful young lady. How wonderful you met like-minded young women like yourself. The Lord is a delight and I praise Him that He has called young ladies to serve Him with a full heart!
Did you know my husband is form Chas.SC?

May God richly bless you!

How absolutly lovely!!! It sounds like you had a /great/ time. You know, I wish we lived over in that area just to be able to go to things like that. There's not much here in the Northwest for our type!

Oh how I wish you could've been there! Yes, I was able to talk to Anna Sophia briefly; oh, I forgot to mention to her that I love their documentary..well I'm sure they get that all the time! Yes, I thought of you when I wrote "femina" its a beautiful word!
I enjoyed meeting you! Yes, that will be so much fun to get together soon!
Yankee Gal (Rachel), LOL
Thanks! I thought it would be fun if I got some girls together to photograph. They were beautiful (inside and out!) and we had a really fun time! Yes, there was alot of twirling going on! :)
My mom made the statement, "It was really nice to see young women *enjoying* being feminine, and feeling proud in their skirts"
Ms. Patricia,
Thank you!
Thats neat that your husband is from SC!
Ms. Dayna,
Indeed, the conference was such a blessing! That is so encouraging that your friend is frequenting my blog! Thank you!
Emily Rose,
Your family is so sweet! We really enjoyed spending time with y'all!
My dad wants to keep in touch with yours; could you please email me ( with you families info?
I had such a fun time with you and your sister, I look forward to seeing y'all again!!! :)
Hey!! Yep, I saw you, but I *just* wasn't quite sure you were you! lol
I felt like many of the girls "looked" like bloggers, but I didn't want to be weird for asking! You and your sister(s) looked beautiful though, and I'm glad we could go to the conference!

Much blessings in Christ!!!

We'll have to try and meet up sometime at a later conference! Is there any chance that you will be at the Father/Daughter retreat in March? Though things are set in firm, we are pretty sure we're going! It would be so wonderful to meet up there!

Hi Mia!
I'm so happy you posted! My friend Emily emailed us and told us she'd found your blog... (I don't know how though :)
Sorry we didn't get to exchange blog addresses at the conference. It was SO lovely getting to know you, even for the short amount of time we got to talk!
I loved your post. It was so nice to see from another young lady what she learned from the conference!
Well, again, it was so nice to meet you and hopefully our paths will cross again someday, Lord willing!
Love in Christ,
the girl in the green skirt under Femina :)

It looks like you had so much fun! I wish my family participated in things like that but my family isn't really religious so if I want to attend conferences or something I usually have to find someone to go with. Hopefully I will run into you one day at conference or event in the near future.

I love your blog. It's so nice to know that there are other girls out there that have the same interests, dreams, etc. You are really a neat girl.
I just started a blog tonight, finally after talking about it for so long.
God Bless You!

Curious, what did (or do) you disagree on?
