SecondHand Treasures
We recently went to a thrift store, and found some great buys!
~
Enamel bowls: $0.10 each
Hat/Coat stand: $2.00
I saw this beautiful wooden stand (it's over 6 ft. tall) and asked the employee the price. Because one wooden piece had split on top, he marked it as "broken" for $2. lol Do you think I could leave it sitting there? I lifted it up and went across the store with it! :) Actually because I have SO many hats now, it's practically loaded with them. I took off a few so the poor stand could look normal, and you'd be able to see it.
~
There's garlic, rosemary and onions in the basket; Ok, I know you may dislike onions, but didn't you want to know what was on the counter? ;)

Beautiful pictures! :) I have a 'strange' request... can you take a close picture of cotton blossoms and a plant with cotton on it for me to see? I have never seen either... :P
Hello. :) I just couldn't resist the urge to tell you what a delightful and inspiring blog you have.I grew up in the country with interests and beliefs much like yours, and now, living in town and a little homesick, reading your blog brings back so many beautiful and happy memories. Thanks so much for sharing all the lovely pitures and inspiring words; they're really a blessing. I hope you don't mind that I've become a "follower" of your blog...
I'm always pleased to see a new post with your lovely photos! You have such great prices at your thrift store! Mine would have wanted $20 for that coat stand! I can't wait to see what you all come up with for the picnic!

Hello Mia ~
Lovely photos...I had to laugh out loud when I saw the one with your kitten meowing...very cute. Please tell your sister that she does a great job on her crocheting. I'm in the process of learning that now. Don't you just love those wonderful thrift store finds? :) I'm sure your dress will be beautiful...hand sewn or by machine. Here's wishing you and your family a wonderful time at the picnic. I'll be sending you clear skies and cool breezes from Texas. ;)
May God Bless You and Your Family.

Mia, thank you! Looking forward to seeing the cotton pics!!! :D
Mia, I love your photographs, and I also share your eye for thrifty things. I absolutely love thrift stores. I actually thought about you today when I saw an antique wash stand while I was in Rescued Treasures (we don't often have antiques in our thrift stores).OK, off my tangent, the cottage looks lovely.I would just love to come visit :-)
hey mia. you are always getting the cutest, vintag-y-est, and cheapest stuff at the thrift store. what in the world kind of thrift store do you go to? i need to know because i need to go there too. i stay in GA, btw. i usually go to the goodwill in atl or morrow, last chance, and the family thrift store in morrow. and i usually find...nothing. if you know the best days or times to hit the thrift shops, let me know. thanks
oh, poor dear terry. i learned to crochet, first with written instructions, then by watching videos on youtube. you should try youtube and just follow along. what i have been trying to do is sew. i have been trying for four years and...still...nothing. it is not going well at all. maybe you or mia can give me some tips.
Oh...there's your MaryJane goodness...and is that Autumn book Susan Branch? ~ love here stuff as well. There is actually a picture of me in the last MJ magazine ~ here is where I posted about it...
